semi homemade

happy friday! round two of work treats for occupational therapy month. i could not come up with anything good on my own, so my lovely mother found this divine recipe for chocolate cake. semi homemade. add a cocktail and call me sandra lee. it was really easy and pretty dang good [it was totally gone at the end of the day]. i would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, yet stunning dessert. and since it wouldn't be sandy style without a little tablescape, i added fresh flowers to the spice up the presentation. here is the recipe.
chocolate pudding fudge cake
one package devil's food cake mix
one package chocolate pudding [i used vanilla because i didn't want it to be too rich]
one cup sour cream
one cup milk
half cup vegetable oil
half cup water
four eggs
one cup semisweet chocolate chips
preheat oven to 350 degrees. grease and flour pans. combine cake mix, pudding, sour cream, milk, oil, water, and eggs. beat for four minutes. mix in chocolate chips. divide evenly into round pans. bake for forty-five to fifty minutes until toothpick comes out clean. cool in pan for ten minutes. cool on cooling rack for ten minutes. frost. enjoy.
cream cheese icing
i used store bought frosting this time, but the icing from the strawberry cupcakes done last friday would work as well.
i hope that your weekend is well. mine will be consumed by a continuing education course, but hopefully i will see some sunshine [it is supposed to be 88 here tomorrow] and perhaps do some shopping. have a safe weekend and remember, keep it simple, keep it fresh, keep it sweet and always keep it semi homemade.
