"i must learn to love the fool in me---the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and get hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries. it alone protects me against that utterly self-controlled, masterful tyrant whom i also harbor and who would rob me of human aliveness, humility and dignity but for my fool."
[t. rubin]
life is all about contradictions, isn't it? we wake, we sleep. we eat, we exercise. we work, we play. we're happy, we're sad.
it's the balancing act between life's yin and yangs that defines who we are and how we handle the good and the bad. i believe that what is most important throughout these roller coaster moments is that we appreciate the challenges, while celebrating success. both will play a pivotal role in our well-being and both end up defining who we are.
this week, may you appreciate the fool and love the tyrant.
after all, it takes two halves to make a whole.
november fifth: a brother and sister that make me proud every single second of the day.
november sixth: an extra hour to sleep or be creative or do laundry or go to the gym
