my contributions to the pool party were a little selfish. you see, i had this huge bottle of vodka in my freezer [from hosting book club]. i'm not one to just pour myself a drink at the end of the day and there was no way i was moving alcohol to nebraska.
so, i decided to make a slush.
it turned out to be just the right combination of fruity and fresh on a very hot day. i will definitely be adding this one to the recipe box.
strawberry vodka slush
2 packages cherry Kool-Aid
1 can frozen orange juice
1 can frozen lemonade
3 oz fresh lemon juice
2 cups sugar
2 1/2 qt. water
3 cups vodka
1 large package frozen strawberries
diet 7-up
puree strawberries in a blender. boil water. add sugar to water until dissolved. mix all ingredients, except 7-up, in a large storage container and freeze [at least 24 hours].
when ready to serve, fill glasses 3/4 full of slush and fill the rest of the glass with 7-up.
enjoy!
