even if i knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, i would still plant my apple tree. [martin luther king junior]
we take time today to pay tribute to a man with a dream for peace, a man with a vision for equality, a man with a prayer for love. i was able to spend a moment of silence at the site of mlk's last breath. his words still ring true today. shall we live by his example and love without question, accept without judgment, and live without hatred?
may we treat each human being with compassion, generosity, and respect. for at our core we are the same. we are all fighting an internal battle, craving acceptance. loving and living. each day, may we live out his dream.
*for those of you wondering... my sister made it safely to south africa. the weekend was incredibly hard with a lot of crying, laughter and knotted stomachs. i've said it once, i'll say it a million times, i have the most incredible family. thank you for your prayers!
