according to my very official google search, yesterday was the first day of spring. and boy oh boy, am i glad. now you can stop listening to me drone on about warmer weather, less bulky clothing and the barren earth. as cliche as it sounds, i always appreciate the spring awakening. there is something refreshing and peaceful about buds popping through cold soil, the cool breeze through your open windows, the birds' new song that will later become annoying, and the hopeful attitude in people passing. my mom welcomes the season with a change in decor. from cold [albeit adorable] winter snowmen to antique fans [like in the photo] and pops of color around the house. i hope to make it to my local greenhouse soon to nurture some flowers to their full potential. until then, i will soak in every ounce of light that spring delivers... sunlight, lighthearted attitudes, delightful days, lightweight clothes, light drinks, and enlightened hearts.
