rocky statue, more photos taken of this than george washington or ben franklin statue. sad, i know.
"let me tell you something you already know. the world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. it is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. you, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. but it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can hit and keep moving forward. how much you can take and keep moving forward. that's how winning is done. now, if you know what you're worth, then got out and get what you're worth. but you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him or her or anybody. cowards do that and that ain't you. you're better than that." [r. balboa]
it is always sunny in philadelphia. not completely true considering the massive rain storm on saturday, but the overall disposition of the city is, in fact, light and pleasant. it was a great weekend filled with a nice balance of history, education, work, friendship and reflection. but let me just say, i am very glad to be back in a routine, have adequate time to talk to my family and my sweetie and to become proactive about the future. i hope that your weekend was productive and peaceful and your week ahead promising. i am looking forward to share my philadelphia experiences with you!
