i never, ever used to be a hat girl. my ears are terribly big and it just never looked right. my sister on the other hand, a total lid type of lady. but as of about four weeks ago, i have been reconsidering. insert the fedora. i have always thought this funky, albeit classic, trend to be a fun one. but again [ears that block the hat from sitting properly on the head], didn't ever catch in the wardrobe category. on a whim, i tried one on before my weekend in austin and sort of fell in love. it's the perfect way to top off an outfit without having to try too much. or really do your hair. brilliant. i promptly purchased two right then and there [with reassurance from dr. j that i wouldn't look like a complete fool]. i'm hooked. next stop: floppy, oversized sunhat. gonna need a beach and a fruity cocktail to justify that purchase. or a good kentucky derby party. whichever comes first.
